Month ONE of Coffee Overload!!

This is the only stretch of my year where, although I’ll be in drastically different cities, I’ll be in the same country for two months in a row. Thank goodness it’s a place known for its coffee (if you follow my personal instagram account, you know I have a problem). Something else that’s exciting about this shift in city is the geography. While much of my year has been spent in valleys, near riverbanks and beaches, Bogotá is distinctly different.

Cradled by chilly Andean peaks, the city is located in the center of Colombia, on a high plateau known as the Bogotá savanna. Here, a medley of well-preserved colonial buildings, museums, restaurants, and bars stand scattered amongst 300-year-old homes, churches and convents—and that’s just the city. The predominant color surrounding Bogotá is the green of the city’s many parks and the eastern mountains overlooking the sanctuaries of Monserrate and Guadalupe. Hopefully, I’ve timed it right and I can catch one of their infamous foodie festivals during the day, and then stroll outside the city to stargaze with a nice bottle of wine at night.
