New Continent, Who Dis?

It’s been four months on one continent; you know what that means—time to move along! Next stop: South America- more specifically, Lima, Peru. Located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Lima is both the capital and the largest city of Peru. The city is known as the Gastronomical Capital of the Americas, mixing Spanish, Andean and Asian culinary traditions (needless to say—EXCITED). Strongly influenced by European, Andean, African, and Asian culture, Lima is a true melting pot, stemming from the various colonization, immigration and indigenous influences.

If you haven’t noticed yet, there are a few themes with the locations thus far: River valleys/beaches and colonial architecture. Lima is no exception. With civilization that dates back millennia, Lima has a rich and diverse history. I’m personally excited to explore pre-Columbian temples and break bread with some of the most forward-thinkers in South America while I'm here!
